A formalização deverá acontecer esta quarta-feira. Do lado republicano, as coisas continuam ainda muito baralhadas. Quem faz mais barulho (Donald Trump, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann) não deverá ter grandes hipóteses na hora da verdade.
Enquanto isso, os nomes mais credíveis (Tim Pawlenty, Mitt Romney, Mitch Daniels, Jon Huntsman) aguardam por uma fase posterior para lançarem os seus trunfos.

Gingrich will make his announcement via Twitter and Facebook in another indicator of how vital social media platforms will be in the 2012 campaign. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty -- two of the more prominent candidates for the GOP nomination -- both launched their White House exploratory committees through online videos that their campaigns-in-waiting promoted heavily on Twitter and Facebook.
The former Georgia congressman is slated to speak at the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday morning before sitting down with Fox News' Sean Hannity that night for his first interview as an official candidate.
Gingrich will travel to Georgia on Friday, according to Tyler, where he will attend the state Republican Party Convention in Macon. The former speaker, who has spent over a decade living in Northern Virginia, is making an overt effort to highlight his ties to Georgia and will base his presidential campaign in the Southern state.
As he begins his campaign in earnest, Gingrich enjoys a reputation as a prolific generator of ideas with proven fundraising abilities and a robust political organization. His high name recognition has helped him perform relatively well in early national polls, but his tumultuous personal life and penchant for generating controversy are two traits he will have to work to overcome to prove himself a viable candidate for the GOP nomination.»
